Rene BeVier Dill, a Northglenn High School graduate and drama student, received her training at the University of Northern Colorado, attaining degrees in Theatre Arts, with emphases in Acting, Directing and Teaching, as well as a degree in English. Rene discovered her love for the theatre as a performer, where she was a familiar face in many local theatre companies and dinner theatres. Some favorites roles include Ilona Ritter in She Loves Me, Kathy Seldon in Singing in the Rain, and Bianca in Taming of the Shrew. After graduating from UNC, Rene relocated to New York City to further her training. She took courses in film and commercial acting at the Creative Acting Company, scene study at the Atlantic Theatre Company, and studied voice with renowned Broadway and Opera teacher, Sherrie Anderson. Rene also taught at the nationally acclaimed Theatre and Dance Alliance (TADA!), a youth theatre company that specialized in theatre outreach in the public schools. Rene taught in every borough of New York City, working as a director and choreographer, before she was offered the job at her alma matter. The summer of 2005, Rene received a fellowship to study at Shakespeare’s New Globe Theatre in London for three weeks. She was immersed in instruction on movement, voice and language, from the Globe Theatre masters, and was even given the opportunity of a lifetime to perform a scene from The Tempest on the Globe Stage! Rene is so happy to be at Northglenn, where the students are second-to-none, and the arts are encouraged to flourish. She would love to thank the three loves of her life, her husband, Brandon, a very busy actor at Boulder's Dinner Theatre, Jackson, an extremely energetic Kindgergartner at Westview Elementary, and Eliot, an adorable, lovable baby boy, for allowing her to be away from home wo much to do what she loves. |
