Battle of the Books

Books, Trivia, Competition

Battle of the Books is a reading competition in which student teams read books and compete in quiz-style competitions against other Adams 12 high schools. All interested students are invited to participate.

HOW IT WORKS

Te ams:
Teams consist of three to five students. Participants can either form their own team or attend a battle to be assigned to a team. Students can choose to read whatever they want from the reading list, but student teams may also choose to strategize/break up the reading. Practice questions will be provided before each battle.

Battle Schedule:
Mystery/Suspense - October 10, 4 pm, Northglenn High School
Fantasy - November 21 4 pm, Thornton High School
Realistic Fiction - January 23, 4 pm, Mountain Range High School
Science Fiction - March 6, 4 pm, Legacy High School
Final Battle - April 24, 4 pm, Horizon High School

Meetings:
The meeting schedule will be announced once the club is formed, but students do not have to attend meetings to participate. Students can stop by the library at any time to check out a book from the reading list.

Fill out the interest form if you are interested in forming a team and/or participating.
