About Roots and Shoots At Northglenn High School
The principle of Roots & Shoots urges people not to waste resources and to respect and exercise gratitude towards Mother Nature for the natural resources she provides us with.
We meet on Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30 in room 210 / Green house / Learning Garden. check with Ms. McClurg (210) or Ms. Ryan for more information.
The main focus of the clubs is therefore to:
- Enhance and support the core curriculum by providing activities and programming that is directly linked to the National Curriculum.
- Provide students with the opportunities to learn more about their surroundings, participate in service projects at school and in the community.
- Promote environmental awareness and develop social and life skills.
- Increase student’s awareness of environmental issues and give them power to make change.
- Provide opportunities for students to become directly involved in a variety of projects relating to the environment.
- Promote environmental awareness and empower students to take actions and work toward building a sound environmental ethic.
