Laura Strickland Richardson

Laura Richardson, Class of 82, has been in the Army since the mid 80's. Her service to our country, along with countless other alumni, has been a great sense of pride to her parents, family and Norse community. She is the daughter of Dr. and Suzanne Strickland, whose family have been a part of our Northglenn community for decades.  The article about her awesome story is found here.  

Laura was a powerhouse in both academics and athletics. The Strickland family was highly decorated at the school and it is not a surprise to see her excelling to the highest level of the military! Currently, General Richardson is meeting with leaders in her Southern Command area to strengthen US - El Salvadoran relations in the economic and political spheres. Whether it's delivering the commencement speech at Metro State University or meeting with Latin American leaders about foreign policy, 4 Star General, Laura Strickland Richardson, continues to make a large impact on our community. We are proud to cheer her on as she puts our little corner of the world on the map! Josh Kalb

Josh Kalb graduated in 2007 as a Head Norse of his class. He went on to attend Liberty College, and is currently a doctor on the east coast. He was chosen to participate in the Got Chocolate Milk's Ad where he trained alongside NFL MVP Hines Ward to compete in the Ironman World Championship in Kona Hawaii.

Heather Carmosino

Heather Carmosino had a highly decorated soccer career at Northglenn HS. Her dream to follow in her family's footsteps to serve our the Colorado community through service was quickly realized. She has been a part of both state and local police/sheriff agencies throughout her prestigious career. After her time as a Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, she transferred to Erie and was appointed Commander of the department. After 16 years in the service of others, Heather was promoted to Deputy Chief as the Erie Police Department!

Jason Buzard

Jason's childhood dream of being a firefighter still in his sights. His position on the North Metro Fire Department has afforded him the opportunity to give back to his community in many ways. He is passionate about mentoring young firefighters on the rig, and also educating the future EMS and service workers in this community. Jason has partnered with both Northglenn HS, as well as Future Forward/Bollman as a teacher and collaborator. His position as the recruiting lieutenant at North Metro has given him another outlet of outreach to the next generation. His commitment to the community continues to make his Northglenn family proud.

Gloire Ndongala

Glorie Ndongala, a 2007 graduate won a $23,000 tuition prize after competing for the grand prize of $100,000 at the 2011 Dr Pepper Million Dollar Tuition Giveaway Promotion and Contest. The competition aired during the 76th AT&T Cotton Bowl’s half-time show at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. His face appeared on Dr. Pepper cans across the country as part of their college bowl campaign. Gloire is now an accomplished author and speaker. He travels internationally to encourage people in their faith, and helping them visualize their dreams.

Nathan Ortiz

Nathan Ortiz graduated in 1996 from the Glenn and went on to study at CU Boulder. He would move to California and begin working on his portfolio as a graphic designer on major Hollywood productions. Nathan Ortiz is an FX Supervisor, creating effects animation for everything from bats to magic spells. Specializing primarily in natural phenomenon, crowds and simulation, he has worked on the likes of Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsThe Dark Knight Rises and Total Recall. Most recently Nathan completed work as FX Supervisor on Ron Howard’s biopic Rush and the latest addition to Marvel’s mighty superhero canon, Thor: The Dark World.

 

Brigette (Hennigar) Modglin

Brigette (Hennigar) Modglin is a full-time Realtor, real estate investor and entrepreneur. She is the Co-Founder/Owner of a boutique real estate brokerage firm called Modglin Real Estate Group. She has sold properties from $5000 to over a million dollars. Many of the properties were just an imagination in the builder’s head over 100 years old. She has also helped hundreds of landlords lease and manage their rental portfolios.  Additionally, she is the Co-Founder of a Longboard manufacturing and Sales company called Long Johns Longboards. Her roles in Student Government, the Editor of the Yearbook, as well as a cheerleader on the Northglenn's award winning squad has catapulted her to this arena with confidence in herself and keen ability to juggle many responsibilities. 

 

Jim McDermott

A class of '94 graduate, Jim has been part of the light and sound community since his graduation from Full Sail University in Florida. He moved to Nashville several years ago to work with some of the nation's best musicians. He has honed his skills as a sound engineer in the recording studio, as well as on the road. Jim has been working with Country singer Dierks Bentley for many years now as the "Front of House-Sound Engineer". His craft has changed over time as technology has opened the door for new ways to produce sound have been created. In a recent interview, he stated "I am convinced that this new STEM curriculum will be a great way for future sound engineers to leave Northglenn with a leg up on the competition-I wish it had been around when I was at the Glenn." Jim's most recent production video highlights his experience with cutting edge technology. Production companies and industry brand names have sought him out as a leader in the field. Of course, winning the Country Music Awards (CMA) for "Engineer of the Year" hasn't hurt either. We are proud to remain in contact with Jim and other alumni in these technological fields. An Alumni At Work

Desiree Hartsock

Are you a fan of The Bachelorette? Desiree Hartsock graduated from Northglenn and moved to California to work as a bridal stylist. She was featured as a young contestant that made it pretty far on The Bachelor, and was chosen to serve as the resident Bachelorette the following season. Her classmates and friends were ecstatic to see her find her prince charming and get married shortly afterward. 

  

Morgan Zamora

Morgan Zamora graced these halls in the early 2000's as an officer in Student Council, and she went on to become a connoisseur of hops, malt and barley! She is now the co-owner of Left Hand Brewing Co. in Longmont, CO. She is also the coordinator of the group "Ales4Females", a female only event hosted in the Left Hand Brewing Tasting Room intended to bring women together for a fun evening of beer education and discussion. She knows really knows her stuff! 

Nathaniel Harris

Nathaniel Harris currently lives in Aspen, Colorado and is the assistant men's buyer / men's merchandiser for a luxury clothing store called Pitkin County Dry Goods. Recognized as one of the best men's clothing stores in the country, this store has been a prominent institution in Aspen for the past 46 years. He spends his time working with trends in the fashion world and analyzing business trends. The fashion world demands a lot of traveling to various markets around the world, depending on the season, he leaves Aspen and head to markets in NY, LA, Las Vegas, Milan and Florence. Everything is very fast paced, as soon as one season comes to a close he is already preparing to leave for another trip and changing your mindset. Since he is heavily  involved in luxury fashion world he are forced to make decisions 6-8 months in advance. As a student here at Northglenn, he focused on role as a DECA officer and gets to put his marketing skills to use every day!

 

Courtney (Conway) Peters

Courtney (Conway) Peters, along with several other girls went on, went on to win a spot on the Denver Broncos Cheerleading Squad after high school. She would later see her dream of owning her own salon come true. She is the proud owner, operator and stylist for the CoCo Marie Salon in Westminster, as well as an entrepreneur in the hair extension business. Along with a team of incredibly talented stylists, she has made a mark for herself in not only in this industry, but also as a makeup and hair design team in the fashion industry. She is currently branching out with several locations, as well as production of hair extensions that are gaining amazing public interest. Go check her out, and tell her we sent ya!
