Attendance Policy

* PARENT/Guardian must be the one to call in and report their student’s absence. Students can not excuse themselves. When calling the attendance line at 720-972-4736 or emailing the attendance line at nghs-attendance@adams12.org state your relationship to the student, your student’s full name and student #. State the reason WHY your student will not be attending school and the day or days your student will be out.

*If a student is 1-9 mins late they are Tardy—Per District Policy in High School Tardies are not excused without a doctor's note.

*If the student is 10 – 29 mins late it is an unexcused partial absence. Unexcused partial absence are not excused without a doctor's note.

* If a student is 30 or more mins late they are considered absent from class.

*Missing a class because you overslept is NOT an excused absence or tardy.

*Missing only 1 class period is not excused without a doctor's note.

* Each Student is allowed 5 absences per SEMESTER without a doctor's note. There are only 2 semesters per school year.

* Extended absence forms can be obtained from Student Relations for pre-arraigned absences over the allowed amount.

* IF YOUR STUDENT HAS AN APPOINTMENT AND YOU NEED TO SCHEDULE AN EARLY RELEASE CALL       720-972-4736 AHEAD OF TIME.  Calling while "in route" to get your student will not ensure they will be ready when you arrive.  

 

Póliza de asistencia de NGHS:

* El PADRE/Tutor debe ser el que llame e informe la ausencia de su estudiante. Los estudiantes no pueden excusarse. Cuando llame a la línea de asistencia al 720-972-4736 o envíe un correo electrónico a la línea de asistencia a nghs-attendance@adams12.org, indique su relación con el estudiante, el nombre completo de su estudiante y el número de estudiante. Indique la razón POR LA QUE su estudiante no asistirá a la escuela y el día o los días en que su estudiante estará fuera.

*Si un estudiante llega de 1 a 9 minutos tarde, es una tardanza: según la póliza del distrito en la escuela secundaria, las tardanzas no se justifican sin una nota del médico.

*Si el estudiante llega de 10 a 29 minutos tarde, es una ausencia parcial injustificada. Las ausencias parciales injustificadas no se justifican sin una nota del doctor.

* Si un estudiante llega 30 minutos o más tarde, se considera ausente de clase.

*Perder una clase porque se quedó dormido NO es una ausencia justificada ni una tardanza.

* Faltar solo 1 período de clase no se justifica sin una nota del doctor.

* A cada estudiante se le permiten 5 ausencias por SEMESTRE sin una nota del doctor. Hay sólo 2 semestres por año escolar.

* Los formularios de ausencia extendida se pueden obtener de Relaciones Estudiantiles para ausencias planeadas previamente por encima de la cantidad permitida.
